The SET (Teen Outreach)

In October of 2017, I launched "The SET", with 13 Teenagers and 16 Mentors. 2 1/2 months later we had over 60 teens and 24 mentors committed to doing life on life, grass roots ministry with teens. The Set is a relationship driven ministry that meet at The FORGE For Families on Tuesday evenings. Mentors were spending an additional 2-3 hours outside the program to do Life on Life with our students. We were very intentional about how we structured the ministry. We want all our teens to know and have a relationship with Jesus Christ and to walk victorious in Him. We plant those seeds by sharing God’s Word, encouraging, listening, counseling, serving, etc… Life on Life relationships have begun to develop through consistency. Soon, we are able to identify the true needs of each teen and then try and holistically, meet those needs. Caring for them in the areas of life-skills, academics, career development, family life, and character and spiritual development.

Our teens are feeling valued and loved. They know we care and are here for them when they need it. Those 13 teenagers grew to a staggering 120 teens touched by the Gospel. They are hungry for love. Hungry for attention. Hungry for guidance. Hungry for answers.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic. No secret that we all have had to adjust our lives to what is going on around the world today. We are seeing a plethora of virtual learning, weddings, funerals, birthdays and even ministry. Well, The SET is utilizing technology also, to continue reaching out to our kids through....

Our schedule for The SET has changed and we are now holding our outreach the 2nd and 3rd Fridays of each month. Every 4th Friday will be for teens wanting to go deeper in the Word to get to know God and how they fit in God's Kingdom. We are even doing more house visits since this pandemic broke out.

This pandemic has affected the whole world. It has affected churches, para churches, missions, etc. In order to stay within the guidelines of the CDC mandate, we've had to max out our compacity of teenagers to 24. Though ministry is different in this season, God is still getting the glory.
